Hi, I'm taylor!
I’ve been working in the makeup industry for 10 years. I found my love for makeup when I was 16. I loved art growing up and when I started wearing makeup it turned into another artistic outlet for me. Doing makeup and learning about makeup became my passion. After high school I enrolled at Media Makeup Academy in Chicago, IL. This was my first step in really taking my dream and turning it into reality. After school, I worked as a makeup assistant for four years for another hair & makeup artist, which really gave me a crash course and so much knowledge on the industry even more so.
As a freelance makeup artist based in Wisconsin I specialize in bridal, special events, photo shoots, etc. My goal as a makeup artist is to provide my clients a stress free experience and to make them feel their absolute best selves for their special day! Doing makeup for my clients makes me truly happy. This is not just a job for me. I have worked with so many amazing clients and I can’t wait to be able to do the same with you!

A LOOK AT THE JOURNEY SO FAR
Decided to take my love of makeup seriously and enrolled at Media Makeup Academy in Chicago, IL. After I graduated I was doing makeup on my family & friends for free to take pictures of my work and post to social media.
2014
My social media portfolio was growing & I became a makeup assistant to a local, WI hair & makeup artist. I was actually getting paid to do makeup!
2017
I was starting to get my name out there throughout the years of doing weddings as an assistant that now I was getting hired as me, Taylor Dawn Makeup.
2019
My first year being fully booked and started hiring my own assistants! Also my first year, stepping out of my comfort zone and offering makeup education.

When I am not working I am spending time with my amazing fiance’. I also enjoy a night in, watching tv, scrolling on pinterest looking at home decor and cuddling with my dogs.
I love catching up with my family and friends, going to cute coffee shops and local bars/restaurants I haven’t been to yet.
I offer makeup services at a studio in the Fox Valley, but I also offer destination services to ensure your special day is as seamless and stress-free as possible. I strive in lively, easy-going bridal party atmospheres where everyone is excited to celebrate and relax together.

A FEW OF MY FAVorites
Doing makeup for as long as I have, I go through phases of my absolute go-to’s for makeup application and what really seems to work on every skin type, skin tone, eye shape and face shape. As of lately here are my ride or die makeup products that I use on all of my clients:
Concealer- Kosas Revealer Concealer. Has a HUGE shade range and wears beautifully on the skin
Blush- Milani Baked Blush. This blush had a moment back in like 2016 and has now made a comeback. I was using it then and I’m using it now. So pigmented, gorgeous color options and looks good on everyone
Lip Liner- Colourpop Lippie Pencils. These lip liners are creamy and feel so nice on the lips compared to so many lip liners out there. Also, the price for these are a huge plus
Lashes- Kiss Lashes. Specifically, my favorites right now are Freckles & Nude Blazer. They look so natural and apply so nicely to so many eye shapes
Bronzer- Juvias Place Bronzed Duo Palette. I have been using this bronzer for 5 years! Again, great shade ranges, don’t apply patchy and it is great for makeup artists like me that it comes in a duo with 2 different shades per palette but also the makeup wearer that fluctuates in their skin tones throughout the year.
